Annette Rubertone, a cherished resident of Pelham, New York, gracefully departed this life on March 6th, 2024, at the age of 86. Born in the Bronx to Jerome DiMenna and Rose Paradiso, Annette was the elder of two siblings. Her formative years were spent in the Bronx, where she attended local schools and later pursued secretarial studies for one year.
At the tender age of 17, Annette serendipitously encountered her life partner, Thomas Rubertone, at the Holiday Inn. Their connection blossomed into a beautiful union that lasted 61 remarkable years. Two years after their chance meeting, they exchanged vows at St. Clare’s church in the Bronx. The couple embarked on a journey that led them from Queens and Pennsylvania, where their children were born, to the idyllic community of Pelham, where they lovingly raised their three children.
Annette's professional pursuits as a makeup artist at Bloomingdale's harmonized with her role as a devoted mother, ensuring her children received the care and attention they deserved. In her leisure moments, she found joy in the camaraderie of Pelham Country Club and New York Athletic Club, indulging in her passion for paddle and tennis.
Annette was renowned for her hospitality, relishing the opportunity to entertain guests with her culinary expertise and convivial spirit. Her love for music, adeptness at the piano, and penchant for social gatherings underscored her vibrant personality. Brigantine Beach in New Jersey held a special place in her heart, where Annette and Thomas retired to their summer home and savored the thrill of slot machines during their leisurely retreats at the Borgata.
Throughout her life, Annette radiated beauty, kindness, humor, creativity, and impeccable organization. She took pride in her appearance, epitomizing elegance with every outing. Above all, she treasured her role as a devoted wife, nurturing mother, and doting grandmother. Her legacy of love and laughter will endure in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Annette Rubertone's departure leaves a void in the lives of those who loved her, but her spirit will forever illuminate the memories shared and the lives touched by her warmth and grace.
Annette is survived by her three adoring children: Thomas (Annie) Rubertone, Regina (Doug) Gouger, and Laura (John) Clemente. She will be deeply missed by her five beloved grandchildren: Sara Clemente, Christina (Andrew) Bowles, Jamie Gouger, Joni Gouger, and David Rubertone. Annette's presence will be profoundly felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas, and her dear brother, Vincent.
