Ann was born in 1925, to Italian immigrants Frances and Dominick Vessia. She grew up mostly on Middletown Rd. a neighborhood in the North Bronx. Ann proved to be a devoted daughter, and sister to her older brother Nicholas and older sister Concetta (Dolly). When the Great Depression hit, her family struggled financially, as well as dealing with a serious illness that required her mother to be taken care of far away from home. Ann met her husband Thomas in 1948, and had her first son Thomas in Feb 1949 a day after her own birthday. In 1953, the family grew with the birth of their second son James. James passed in 1980, which was a tremendous loss to the family. Tom married his wife Meg in 1986, and started their own family in 1987, when they had Ann's first grandchild Chad. In 1991, they had Falyn. The grandchildren brought a lot of joy to both Ann and Tom Sr. In her later years she traveled to many places, belonged to The Pelham Women's Club, worked on St Jude's fundraiser, she loved playing cards, and hosted many family gatherings. Ann was a graceful women that will be missed by her family, friends and a world that needs people of grace.
