Alfred Anderson of MT. Vernon, NY, passed away on Monday, May 8th, 2017 with family by his side. He was 75 years old.
Born in the Dominican Republic, Alfred would attend school there before moving to New York City as a young adult. He joined the US Army at the age of 21 and worked at various bases across the United States. For most of his adult life, Alfred was a Registered Nurse caring for the needs of others at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York.
Family was always first to Alfred. He and his wife, Carol made a life for themselves and raised their two children with love. Alfred was a loving father and always steadfast in his beliefs. With his leisure time he loved to fish or perhaps go to a casino for the slots.
Alfred is survived by his loving wife, Carol; his 2 children, Alfred and Tracy, He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Bryan and Taylor Paige and his siblings Maritza andTeolinda. He was predeceased by his sister Bebs. Also survived by loving nieces and nephews Jerry, Gigi, Anthony, Nicholas, Junito, Elaine and Mandy.
A celebration of Alfred's life will take place at Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Ave, Pelham, NY on Saturday, May 13th from 4:00-7:00 PM.
