Alba Iris Estela Castillo Roa de Ciampi passed away peacefully at home, on December 1, 2024, at the age of 78 and with her family by her side. Born in the Dominican Republic, she was one of 12 children raised by her loving mother, Ana Teresa Roa and also a step sister to others. Alba worked at the National Palace, the equivalent to the White House, and was a model and actress that attended Bellas Artes, in the Dominican Republic. She later met and married her beloved husband, Basil Ciampi, and together they built a life in New York, raising two daughters, Stacy and Allison. She is also survived by her sons-in-law, David Hannan and Aftab Khan, and her cherished granddaughter, Olivia Hannan.
Alba was an extraordinary cook and baker, known for her delicious meals and treats. She had a remarkable talent for sewing, creating beautiful clothes, curtains, costumes and home decorations, all that brought warmth and charm to any space.
She will be remembered as a loving, generous, and caring humanitarian who always put others first. Alba's devotion as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend touched many lives, leaving behind treasured memories that her family will forever hold dear. There is a great void in the world without her presence.
